Adeline Schmidt was born to Rose (Seidel) and John Ott on October 17,1930 in String Prairie, Texas.  She passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2024.

As a young girl, Adeline moved to New Braunfels with her family where she met her future husband, Ira D Schmidt.  She worked different jobs but most people will remember her from working at Wuest's grocery store.  After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Ira to many different places throughout the United States and abroad.  She enjoyed working outside in her flower garden and was active in the local walking club.  She loved a good bingo game and a trip to the casino to play the slots was always on the agenda.  Adeline was a lifetime member of the Eagles Auxiliary and gave countless hours to that organization.  She was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and gave her time as a member of the choir, a greeter, and various other organizations within the church.

Adeline was preceded in death by her son James Schmidt, her grandson Justin Schmidt, her husband Ira Schmidt and daughter in law Carla Leighton.

She is survived by son Michael (Mary), daughters Donna Allen (Larry), Marsha Riviea, sons Gregory (Sharon), Dana, Leslie and Aaron (Carolyn), 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School Trust Fund.

Visitation will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home on June 5, 2024 from 5 - 7pm with rosary at 6pm.

Funeral mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on June 6, 2024 at 10am.

Graveside Services to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum.
