Aletta Faye (White) Bennett passed peacefully into heaven on August 4, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in the small East Texas town of Teneha on April 2, 1937, she was the daughter of Homer and Ruby White.

Known affectionately as Memaw & Grandma, Aletta was the heartbeat of every family gathering, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was highly energetic with a zest of life and had a gift of welcoming new family members into the family.

In her youth, she enjoyed sports like basketball, swimming, boating, and camping. Always the outdoor type, she was a passionate golfer who did achieve the honor of a "Hole in One". Aletta also enjoyed playing cards, games of all types and working puzzles. She was highly competitive in every aspect of sports, games and business. She shared her love of sports with her 2 sons, teaching them good sportsmanship in sports, especially basketball. Not missing any sports activity her sons participated in, she was also highly involved with their education by joining the PTA (Parent Teacher Association).

Aletta is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bennett; her sisters Valle' (husband Garland) Clark, Jane (husband Cap) Stauffocher; and her brother Don White. Also preceding her are Sister and brother in laws Charlene and Bill Mathews, and Bill and Barbara Bennett.

She is survived by her son John Bennett (wife Susan) and their children Andria and Aaron Bennett; her son Gregg Bennett (wife Jill) and their 2 children Christopher Bennett (wife Devon) and great granddaughter Charlotte; Shawn Bennett (wife Mona) and great granddaughter Eloise. Her youngest sister, Sharon Ziegler, along with many special nieces and nephews and their respective families also survive her and will carry many treasured memories of Aletta with them.

Her legacy lives on in the laughter she inspired, the traditions she built and the love she gave so freely. A celebration of life is planned for Monday, August 11 from 12pm-3pm at the Forke Store, Churchill Drive where we will share our memories of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
