Antoinette "Nettie" Batey, 90, of New Braunfels, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2023. She was born on August 13, 1933, in New Braunfels, Texas to Paul and Helen (Fey) Hubertus. She married Virgil Lee Batey on January 9, 1960. Nettie worked in the cafeteria at Comal Elementary School for 25 years. She loved spending quality time with her family and volunteering at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Thrift Store.

She is survived by her brother Marvin Hubertus, Children; James Batey (Pamela), Debbie Burgess (Mason), Dennis Batey (Lorena), and Mark Batey (Paula), 12 Grandchildren; Melissa Lehman (Shannon), James Paul (Lauren), Colten, Keith (Kaylee), Braden (Rachel), Amber Burgess, Lauren Gualandri (Tobias), Brady Burgess, Colby (Mikaela), Morgan Stanford (Colton), Taylor Batey (Matthew), and Walker, 14 Great Grandchildren, Brother-in-law, Phillip, Sisters-in-law, Mary Batey (William Brasuell), Katy Mae Batey and Barbara June Henk (Mike) , and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers; Edgar, Alphonse, Leroy, and sisters; Mary and Marcella.

The family will receive friends and family to celebrate her life on Sunday, August 20, 2023,

at Doppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with a Rosary starting at 6:00PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM

at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Comal.
