Audrey Jean "Jeannie" Clark was born to Audrey Pleamon & Faye Jean (Scarborough) Kimball on October 5, 1952, in Robstown, Texas.

She passed from this life on April 30, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 73.

Jeannie was a Deeply Loved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Mother-In-Law, Daughter-in-Law, Sister-In-Law, Aunt and Friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Kimball, and her husband, Edward Clark.

Jeannie is survived by her sons, Samuel Clark & wife, Jennifer and her grandson, Caius of Leander, Texas, Stephen Clark of New Braunfels, Texas and Stewart Clark & wife, Savannah of Seguin, Texas; brother, James "Jimmy" Kimball & wife, Janice of Calallen, Texas; sister, Jill Aldridge & husband, Larry of Bishop, Texas; sister-in-law, Shelley Kimball of Lincoln, Nebraska; father-in-law, Sammy Clark of Gatesville, Texas and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other additional family members and friends.

Jeannie was born and raised in Banquete, Texas, the daughter of AP and Faye Jean Kimball. She grew up alongside her two brothers and sister with farm chores and family responsibility woven into her days. She also spent a lot of time working at the family's local restaurant, The Cedar Shack. After graduating from Banquete High School in 1970, she became the first in her family to earn a college degree, graduating from Texas A&I in Kingsville in 1974. As a young woman, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Banquete, where she often blessed the congregation with her beautiful singing voice during worship.

Service and love were Jeannie's calling, and she answered it through teaching for 37 years. She spent the final 27 of those years at Weinert Elementary in Seguin, where she shaped generations of students with patience, warmth, and a deep belief that every child deserved to feel seen and loved. In her final year before retirement, she was honored as Weinert's Teacher of the Year, a fitting recognition of a career defined by showing up, day after day, for the kids who walked through her door.

In 1983, at Wurstfest, she met the love of her life, Ed Clark. They were married on June 2, 1984, and built their life together in New Braunfels, where they raised three sons, Sam, Stephen, and Stewart, all of whom graduated from New Braunfels High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Over the years she welcomed her daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Savannah, into the family with the same open arms she gave everyone she loved. Ed was her partner in everything until his passing in 2011, and she carried his memory with her every day after.

When she retired from teaching that same year, Jeannie didn't slow down. She just turned her care toward another chapter. Her mother, Faye, moved into her home in New Braunfels, and the two of them spent the next eleven years on adventures big and small until Faye's passing in 2022. Caring for others was simply what Jeannie did. It wasn't a duty, it was who she was.

The last five years of her life belonged to her grandson, Caius who was born in 2020. From the time he was six months old, a FaceTime call with Gigi was part of his nightly bedtime routine. She enjoyed watching as many of his baseball and soccer games as she could. She read him books until he was able to read them to her, spoiled him without apology, and told anyone who would listen that he "was her whole world." She beamed with pride anytime she got to brag on her grandson. Becoming Gigi was the great joy of her later years, and the love between them was something to behold.

Jeannie filled her life with the things and people she loved. She crafted and laughed her way through adventures with her dear friend group, The Crafty Ladies. She tended her garden. She cooked and hosted Sunday dinners that drew in her family, her extended family, and all the "adopted kids" who knew her door was always open and her table always had room for one more. Each day she shared a Bible verse on Facebook, small daily offerings of hope and light for anyone who needed them that day. That, in many ways, was Jeannie. A quiet, faithful presence handing out hope and love to whoever was paying attention.

She was the best mom, and the most perfect Gigi. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM when a Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 189 N. Seguin Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Following the Funeral Service, the family will travel to Banquete Cemetery (Nueces County) in Banquete, Texas later that afternoon for a burial at 2:00 PM. All are invited to attend.

The family would love for you to bring an unmarked children's book to the service for an elementary age child (5-11 year old). All of these books will be donated to Weinert Elementary in Seguin, Texas where she taught for 27 years of her life.
