Bobby Loyd Edwards, passed away on November 15, 2023 at the age of 95. Bob is survived by his wife, Glenda (Eggleston) Edwards and his daughters, Elizabeth (David) Joost, Kathryn (Anthony) Diede, Margaret (John) Brandau, and Jennifer (Paul) Church. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob was born on January 14, 1928 in Sterling City, Texas. He was the son of Marion and Blanche (Tweedle) Edwards and was preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings: Hazel Beam, Viola (Jean) Hahn, Maurine Lucas, William (Roland) Edwards, Claude (Wayne) Edwards, and Peggy Densmore.

Bob spent his youth in Sterling City, Texas before attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock graduating with a degree in Zoology. He served in the US Army as a corporal during the Korean War before taking a job as an Interstate Aquatics Instructor for the American Red Cross in Marshalltown, Iowa where he married Glenda on February 25, 1961.

Bob's job with the American Red Cross necessitated their moves to St. Cloud, Minnesota; Berlin, Wisconsin; Atlanta, Georgia; Waco, Texas and Jamestown, North Dakota. Bob then retired from the American Red Cross and took a position with the Ann Carlsen Center in Jamestown as its chief fundraiser.

After retiring from the Anne Carlsen Center, Bob and Glenda spent their retirement traveling around the world and within the USA in their RV. They moved to New Braunfels, Texas in 2003. Bob enjoyed making jewelry and selling his creations at flea markets.

He firmly believed that Jesus was his Savior and had a quiet, personal faith. Bob possessed a warm, likeable personality and would often greet you with a clever joke while smiling and shaking your hand.

Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held at 1:15 PM

on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
