Brenda Gaye King passed away peacefully in her home on June 20, 2024. Brenda retired from Bank of America after working there for over 40 years. Brenda loved spending her retirement with her husband of 41 years, Wayne, traveling, gambling, and enjoyed being with her family.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Wayne, brother Brent, daughters, Kristen (Gutierrez), her husband, Greg, Stephanie (Funkhouser), her husband Spencer, Lauren King, her step-son Wesley (King-Petty), his wife, Calista, and her beloved grandbabies, Jay, Andrew, Ethan, Jacob, Adeline, and Wyatt. Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Bates, her mother,  Ida Gaye Bates, and her granddaughter, Taylor.

Brenda lived her life to the fullest. If she wasn't on a beach somewhere, she was "camping" with her girlfriends, traveling and gambling with Wayne, or just being the best Mimi to her grandkids. Brenda was the rock and glue to her family and she will be forever missed. Although our hearts mourn the loss of her we take solace in knowing that she loved fiercely and she was fiercely loved.

Brenda volunteered at Provisions Food Pantry every Monday and the Alzheimer's and American Heart Association were very near to her heart. If you would like to make a tribute on behalf of Brenda, please make a donation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels.
