Obituary

In Loving Memory of Carol Nichols.

Just a few weeks after celebrating her 80th birthday, Carol Nichols—beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—passed away on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Carol bravely battled cancer for over four years with courage and grace. Born on June 3, 1945, as the youngest of six children, Carol grew up in Britt, Iowa, where she formed lifelong friendships that remained strong throughout the years.

On December 26, 1965, she married Roger Lloyd Nichols. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. In 1972—a date she often shared with her loved ones—Carol met the Lord, and from that day forward, she lived out her faith with unwavering devotion, touching countless lives through her love and dedication.

Family was everything to Carol. She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughters Juli Muchow (Robert), Nancy Krause, and Teri Gannon (Rick); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. She also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews, and many others who knew her as a spiritual mother and guiding light.

Carol devoted her professional life to caring for others. She was a career nurse, entrepreneur, and business owner whose tireless work and passion made her unstoppable in everything she pursued. She had a servant's heart and poured her love especially into young girls, mentoring and nurturing them with kindness and grace. Her loyalty, determination, and love for the church were evident in everything she did.

But the extent of her reach may only be rivaled by the passion with which she pursued it. From creating puppet shows to dressing as a clown to starting a bus ministry, it's hard to imagine what lengths this meek little lady wouldn't go to in order to achieve her goal. Her goal was clear and shouted loudly through the way she lived her life: she loved the Lord, and everyone around her needed to know Him too.

Carol's legacy is one of compassion, faith, and strength. She was dearly loved by all who knew her, and her life leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Oakwood Baptist Church, 2154 TX-337 Loop, New Braunfels, Texas 78130
