Carol Ann (Ray) Collette went to be with our Lord on September 9, 2022. At the age of 78, she is remembered for her abundant love, selfless service, and her kind and gentle spirit.

She was born in Kermit, Texas, to John and Willie Jo Ray. Her father owned a small nightclub hosting music, dancing, and performances by Texas celebrities, including Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. It was here Carol Ann's love for music, dancing, impromptu home skits, and crazy hat contests first developed. These quirks led to many fond memories for all who knew her. Carol Ann often shared childhood memories, most of which included stories of fun mischief with her sisters Delores Juanita of Granbury, Texas and Rosa Lee, who is dancing with her in Heaven.

After countless months of being courted by a crew-cut airman through her family's screened door, Carol Ann was elated to finally marry her true love of 62 years, Sam Collette---inseparable love birds.

While raising her family and continuing her education, Carol Ann explored her various passions and interests, often joking that she had been everything from a butcher, a baker, and a candlestick maker. She was, in fact, a butcher, hairdresser, make-up consultant, public speaker, and Sunday drive adventurer. In 1980 she became a realtor, where her heart shined as she lived to serve and help others achieve their family dreams. In 2007, Carol Ann became Broker and co-owner of C4 Real Estate of Texas, where she adored working side by side with her son, Rocky Collette. Carol Ann served on multiple boards, later becoming the President of the Women's Council of Realtors. She enjoyed gatherings at their family home on Canyon Lake and visits with her grandchildren Justin and Tyler Collette and her great-grandchildren Mason and Robin Collette. She always had a heart for nature, feeding the many neighborhood deer she called by name, and was especially fond of her "Sweetheart." She loved purple roses, hummingbirds, and key lime pie; large gatherings, telling family stories, and laughing about epic cooking mishaps. But it was her love for the Lord, her family, and her friends that she most enjoyed, and that love extends to everyone she met. Her wonderful nature meant she never knew a stranger.

Family and Friends will celebrate her memory on Saturday, September 24 th at 2 pm at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 1071 FM 2673 at Sattler, Canyon Lake, Texas.
