Charles John
Bolle, Jr.
Mar 5, 1944 — Apr 11, 2024
Charles John Bolle, Jr., 80, of New Braunfels, Texas and known to his friends and family as John, died April 11, 2024 while receiving care at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
John was born March 5, 1944, in Festus, Missouri to parents Charles and Irene Bolle. He was involved in Boy Scouts of America and attended Festus High School where he played basketball and football. After graduation, he attended Southwest Missouri State University on a football scholarship. John was a natural athlete and enjoyed snow skiing, golf, tennis and pickleball throughout his life. John was a member of the Missouri National Guard and served in the Vietnam War in 1968-69. He had a successful career in the cement industry in the areas of management, new plant construction, and kiln operation. He worked at LaFarge in New Braunfels for most of his career as well as in Ohio and Egypt.
John was married to Nancy Robinson in 1966 and celebrated their 57th anniversary this year. In 1976, their only child, Sarah Bolle Blake, was born, and in 1979, they moved from Missouri to New Braunfels. John was an active member of Oakwood Baptist Church, Bible Study Fellowship, New Braunfels Rotary Club, and as an Opa in the Wurstfest Association.
John was a gentle, kind, and patient man who was known for his honesty, fairness, and dependability. He loved Jesus, his family, and the mountains. His greatest legacies are the deep, faithful relationships with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren that were nurtured through quality time and acts of service. His love of the mountains was passed to his grandchildren after teaching them to snow ski. Additionally, he shared summers with them in Wyoming biking, kayaking and fly fishing. John will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy, daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and James Blake, three grandchildren, Jeb (14), Caroline (12) and Charlie John (10 and namesake of John), sister Judy Bolle McMillan, nieces Tracy (Glenn) Lydahl and Kim (Don) Sweat, and 3 great-nephews, Kevin and Daniel Sweat and Gage Lydahl. His parents preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024
