Charlie graduated from New Braunfels High School, class of 1958, where he was a Student Rotarian, a three-year letterman, All District football player, basketball player and voted Most Athletic. High school was followed by attending Blinn College and Air Force Reserve at Lackland Air Force Base. As a service technician for United Gas and Entex he served the energy industry for many years.

Charlie continued to enjoy all sports throughout his life. As a coach for many different leagues and teams in New Braunfels he made a great number of friends. Being a true outdoorsman hunting and fishing were a passion, as well. He had a love for animals and was rarely without a pet by his side. He had many faithful dogs and one entertaining cat. He also reveled in organized drag racing and auto mechanics. He could take apart and rebuild almost anything.

Charlie was a vivid storyteller who would throw in German words and phrases interchangeably. Most of his stories were about family and friends in New Braunfels. He loved this town and could tell you almost anything about it.  Which is why it's no surprise he chose to spend his whole life here.
