Obituary

Christine James Moberley died on Friday, July 8, 2022, while hospitalized in Brooke Army Medical Center. Her husband Ben, sons Scott and Eric (via facetime), and daughter-in-law Mary were at her bedside. She was 78 years old. She was born July 31, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to her parents Kenneth and Alice James. At age 2, they relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas.

At the age of 11, she would meet her older brother's friend, Ben, who would eventually, in 1963 become her husband for 59 years. Following her new husband through college and his commission in the U.S. Army, she raised two sons during his Army career including the Vietnam era. In his career they relocated to several other postings such as Maryland, Alabama, Panama, Indiana, northern Virginia, and San Antonio.

Christine was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her throughout the majority of her life, and she was loved and adored by many, many friends. One of her greatest joys in life was participating in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), for which she served many years as a discussion leader.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ben, along with sons Scott (Mary), Eric (Emily), and grandchildren Sarah, Andrew, Lottie, and Vivian. She is also survived by her brothers Kenneth James of Liberty, Ill, and Berry James of San Marcos, Tx. She was preceded in death of her parents and a half-brother Harry Bowden, of Corpus Christi.

A memorial service will be held at the Army Residence Community Chapel on July 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM.

Christine will be cremated and laid to rest in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on a future date.
