Christopher Caleb
Haynes
Jul 3, 1975 — Jun 30, 2024
Christopher Caleb Haynes, born on July 3, 1975, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2024 in New Braunfels, Texas. He was the beloved son of John Gary and the late Linda Ann Haynes (Blumberg).
Chris graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio in 1993 and later moved to New Braunfels. He built a successful career as a skilled pipe fitter and ran a successful landscaping business. Known affectionately as "Caleb" by many, Chris was a man of varied passions. He loved fishing along the Texas coast and hunting in the Texas Hill Country. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Music was Chris's true passion. He got his start singing in the youth choir at Travis Park United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. An avid singer and songwriter, he loved performing live at various venues and gatherings, always showing up with his guitar to liven up any event. His heartfelt music and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Chris had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Ann Haynes. He is survived by his loving partner, Marci Thwing; his daughter, Lauren Haynes; his father, John Haynes; his brother, Ben (Roxanne) Haynes; and his sister, Johanna (Dilip) Sarangan. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held on July 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. Because of Chris's love for landscaping, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, a tree be planted in his name.
Chris will always be remembered for his musical talents, his generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.
