David Agold was born on November 21, 1946, the second child of eight children, to Max and Viola Agold, in San Antonio, Texas.  David's father was in the Air Force, so David had the opportunity to live in a variety of places, including Great Falls, Montana, Linz, Austria, Munich, Germany and Dayton, Ohio.  Because the family moved so much, the 8 children were close and played many games together.  For example, David and his brother Michael loved playing marble and had a big collection of comic books.  David said he had deformed thumbnails due to indentions from the pressure from the marbles. He was the Marbles Champion in the neighborhoods of Munich, Germany and Dayton, Ohio.   David also collected hundreds of baseball and football cards from bubble gum packages.  He also loved to play baseball and started playing baseball at Ramstein AFB in Munich, Germany back in the early '50's.

As an Air Force "brat", David attended many schools, graduating in 1965 from Edison High School and from The University of Texas in 1972 with a BSEE in Electrical Engineering.

He had a lot of parttime jobs, including his first as a newspaper route carrier in the 9th grade.  He continued working part-time jobs while attending college.

His employment credits include Schlumberger Well Services, Applied Research Laboratories, Health Sciences Division, in both San Antonio and at NASA in Clear Lake City.  He worked as a Biomedical Engineer for the Space Shuttle Columbia while at NASA.  He then worked at the Automated Jet Engine Test Division at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, retiring after 21 years.  Before retiring, he obtained the credentials needed to develop websites and created his own company, Internet Concepts, and spent subsequent years developing his company.

David loved sports.  He made the Minor Leage Semi-Professional Baseball Team, San Antonio Road Runners and played with them for two years.  Through a friend's suggestion, he then became a coach/player for quite a few successful soccer teams in the senior men's league, senior boys' team, and women's soccer team.  He then became a referee with the San Antonio Referee Association as an adult soccer referee.  Was awarded the most popular referee for two consecutive years.  David also enjoyed dancing and went to the many country/western dance clubs, including the Golden Stallion and Conestoga Club.  He also enjoyed skiing and joined the Los Amigos Ski Club in 1987, going on many ski trips with the Club.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Viola Agold, his brother, Michael, and his brother-in-law, Gerald Gervin.  He is survived by his three children, David, Jr., Diana, and William.  He is also survived by his siblings, Maxine (Gerald) Gervin, Patricia Agold Keller, Jeanette Agold Blount, Kathryn Agold (Clarence) Ciomperlik, James (Terri) Agold, and Max Agold, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services are:

Rosary at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Honey Creek, Texas

Memorial service at 10:00 with interment immediately following at the St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery.
