David Andrew Legendre, born March 13, 1962 entered into his eternal rest on August 17, 2021 after an extended sickness.  He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Dorenda Legendre; daughter Kathryn Legendre and husband Brian; Matthew Legendre; step daughter Alexis Guillory; mother Arlene (Kim); sisters, Lisa Legendre (son Derek); Carole Legendre; Donna Hofmann and husband Dave (daughter Paige); Sharon Villarreal and husband Johnny (daughter Bridget, Paul and great niece, Jayde); mother-in-law, Bonnie Thrasher and a host of additional other family members. Proceeded in death by his father, Deacon "Jim" Legendre.

David grew up at St. Joseph Honey Creek, their family have been parishioners since 1973.  David's father, the late "Deacon Jim" Legendre was retired United States Air Force and David followed in his footsteps entering the Air Force, worked multiple jobs and went back to school and earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degree.

David was passionate in working with other Air Force specialty-coded airmen in meeting a common and singularly important mission:  The absolute BEST in patient care.  As a member of the Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Tem, his primary job was to secure and queue the most expedient fixed-wing transport for sick and injured service members from point-of-injury to rear echelon medical facilities.  In support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM in 2003, David served as Officer-in-Charge, forward-deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq.  While there, his team worked multiple mass casualty events to include the Baghdad UN bombing, and the Chinook shoot-down near Fallujah with 32 U.S. soldiers on board.  His team's contribution SAVED LIVES!!  They both remember David as a true standout and proud Airman wholly dedicated to our Air Force's core values of:  Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All We Do!  These weren't just words to David, he lived and exemplified these values always!  David retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

A rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 2 ^nd at 7 pm at St. Joseph Honey Creek Catholic Church, 25781 Hwy 46 West, Spring Branch, TX 78070.  Funeral Mass Friday, September 3 ^rd at 10 am, interment to follow at St. Joseph cemetery.
