David Wayne Leither of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born at Carswell AFB on September 5, 1958, in Ft. Worth, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Sue (Hagood) Leither-McCubbins and Raymond Vincent Leither, and his great-grandson, Pierston Wayne.

He is survived by his "Tulip" Tammi; his brother, Larry (Rhonda) Leither; loving children, Jessica (Brian) Cruz, Eric (Ashley) Leither, and Hailey Leither; adoring grandchildren, Shellby, Preston, Makenzie, Ava, Holley and Elizabeth; beloved great-granddaughters Paisyn and Blakely and numerous other relatives and countless friends.

At the age of 18, he went to work for Ogburn's Brake and Equipment Company (now known as Ogburn's Truck Parts), where he continued his career until late 2023.  He was an extremely dedicated employee and hard worker, rarely missed a day of work.

He had his fair share of fun as well.  He loved listening to music which he shared this passion of with his children and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed playing pool, liked searching for cars/trucks/hotrods, going to car shows and swap meets.  But hands down, he had the best times when he was with his family up to and including his last days.  He wasn't huge on movies or TV shows, but rarely missed a Dallas Cowboys game or anytime the Texas Rangers were on television.  He loved the Cowboys, the Rangers, and the Mavericks, and equally despised the Spurs, lol.

He would help friends, family, and strangers whenever the opportunity would arise.  He was always just a phone call away.

We would like to extend our gratitude and send thanks to Ed and Lisa Trafton (brother and sister-in-law to Tammi) and the staff at Amedisys. These special people made sure David and his loved ones were watched over and cared for during his last days.

Please take comfort in knowing David is "Free As A Bird", he will undoubtably be missed by all that knew him but would want each of us to hang on to all the great memories we have of him.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM on March 16, 2024, officiated by Reverend Todd Reavis,

at Hill Country Memorial Gardens, 11700 SH-46 West, New Braunfels, Texas 78132.

There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following service at Cruzer's Customs,
