Memorial Service to be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 189 N. Seguin Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130

David Rivas, 61, of San Antonio, Texas, was called home by our Heavenly Father on November 28, 2025.

David graduated in 1982 from Alamo Heights High School.  Following high school, he completed two radiology programs at Baptist Health System: School of Health Professions.  He was proudly registered in X-Ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine.  He worked as a Radiologic Technologist for forty years in both a hospital and clinic setting.

He loved fishing, sci-fi movies, multiple genres of music, and comic books.  He enjoyed family get-togethers and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church when his work schedule permitted.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Manuel Rivas.

He is survived by  Daughter, Lindsay Elizabeth Rivas Szurkowski (Adam); Sons, Zachary Ryan Rivas and Joshua Blake Rivas; his mother, Josephine Garcia Rivas;  Sister, Nancy Rivas Chapa (Daniel);  Brother, Joseph Rivas (Erin Delaney); a Granddaughter and many close relatives and very dear friends.
