Diane Switzer Palm, 64, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away on January 28 from cancer. She is survived by her husband, Martin Werner Palm, her sons Mitchell Switzer Palm and Alex Werner Palm, and one grandson, Xander David Palm, her twin sister Denise Switzer Miller, sisters Vicki Switzer and Terry Switzer Van Dyke, and her aunt, Mary Lou Switzer Nuttall. She is also survived by her first cousins Georgianna, Caroline and Hampton. There were many nieces and nephews as well.

Diane attended Chattanooga High School, graduating in 1977. She studied Computer Science at Chattanooga State Technical Community College, graduating in 1981 Magna Cum Laude. She became a Computer Programmer Analyst and worked at GeoSystems  Corporation,  Digicon Systems and SGM in Houston, Texas and was working there when she met her husband, Martin, through friends in New Braunfels, Texas. They have been married 35 years and resided in New Braunfels for their entire marriage.

Diane and her husband, Martin, established and operated a food vendor company called DiMar Enterprises which had booths at Wurst Fest in New Braunfels, Texas State Fair in Dallas, and Rodeos in Austin, Houston and San Antonio as well as the 4th of July celebration in Austin at Auditorium Shores. They sold many types of food, most notably German varieties.

Diane loved the outdoors. She had many wonderful camping trips along the Guadalupe River with her family, taking long road trips in their RV and going on vacation with her family. She loved her trips to Oconee State Park in South Carolina and Sunset Beach with her husband, sisters and all of their children.  She enjoyed snow skiing and water sports since her older sister had a vacation house in Vail.

Diane's best legacy and honor was raising her special needs grandson, Xander. She worked tirelessly to accommodate his every need for 9 years. Because of her selfless attitude and love, this little boy was given what he needed to survive and thrive. She considered the opportunity to care for him to be a blessing.

She was a great wife, mother, sister, friend and mentor to many. She loved her family and was a joy to be around. Her positivity and laughter will linger in our hearts. She will be greatly missed and loved.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 10:00 AM at the Doeppenschmidt funeral home, (189 N Seguin Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130). After that, the celebration of her life will be moved to Diane's and Martin's private residence, where it will continue for the rest of the day and evening.
