Donald Maurice Hazard, 81, of New Braunfels, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2023.  He was born July 10, 1942 in Gorman, Texas to Maurice and Lilly (Parker) Hazard.  Don was raised in Eastland, TX. In high school he enjoyed playing football for the Eastland Mavericks and went on to play football for one year at Ranger Junior College.  Don graduated from East Texas State University with a Masters of Business Administration in 1966. He moved to San Antonio, Texas, and was a teacher at Morrill Elementary in Harlandale ISD for 41 years, as well as a loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Bassett) Hazard, daughters; Lisa (Keith) Dunn of San Antonio, TX, Lauren (Andrew) Jennings of Burleson, TX and his 6 grandchildren, Nick, Zack, and Emily Dunn and Anna, Luke, and Ethan Jennings.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 189 N. Seguin Ave in New Braunfels, TX with Dr. Andrew Jennings officiating.  Interment will follow at 12:00 P.M. at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels.
