Donald J. Roberts, Sr., 89, of Canyon Lake, Texas passed away on November 11, 2021 in New Braunfels, Texas.  He was born on December 25, 1931 in Lafayette, Louisiana to William and Mabel (Sutton) Roberts.

After 22 years of service, Don retired from the United States Air Force.  He was a longstanding member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a Fourth Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mamie A. (Scallan) Roberts; three children, Donald J. Roberts, Jr., Steven (Kelley) Roberts, and Lisa (John) Garza; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary service is scheduled for Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Sattler at Canyon Lake.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM prior to services.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church at Canyon Lake.  Burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 12/25/1931
