Dorothy Ann Asbill, age 95, passed away in New Braunfels, TX on November 17, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on November 21, 2023 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, TX. Chaplain Mike McClung will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am - 11am preceding the service.

Dorothy (Dot) was born in Bay City, TX on May 11, 1928. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston, TX.

Dot was married to Carroll Asbill on September 11, 1946; they had been married 68 years when Carroll passed away in 2014.

Dot was actively involved in Little York Baptist Church in Houston and she found great joy working in the nursery at First Baptist Church in Burnet. She and Carroll were involved in the building and operation of the church's annual program, "Main Street Bethlehem". She was a life long Astros fan and could always be found with a radio nearby to listen to the ball game. She never thought she'd see them win a World Series, but she saw them win two.

Dot is survived by her son Rick Asbill and wife Ursula, her daughter Lori Long and husband Sam, her grandson Roman, her granddaughters Kelsey, Courtney, and McKenna, four great grandsons Josiah, Judah A, Judah C, and Jacob, one great granddaughter Lennon, and several nieces and nephews.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Newt Arnold, her sister Billie Smith and her husband Carroll Asbill.
