Dorothy "Jeanette" Covington was born on March 14, 1942, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She went into the loving arms of Jesus on March 27, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 83. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Carl Worth Covington, brother Ronald Rayburn, and parents Clyde and Hazel (Klepper) Rayburn. She is survived by her son Kevin and wife Angela of Andrews, Texas; son, Jeff and wife Jennifer of New Braunfels, Texas; and grandchildren Katie, Kyle, Autumn, and Cade.

A graveside service will be held at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, Texas, on Friday, April 4th at 11:00 am with graveside visitation at 10:30 am. A memorial service will be held at The Brooks of Cibolo on Tuesday, April 8th at 10:00 am.

Jeanette lived on an Oklahoma farm as a young child and then moved to Hereford, Texas. She studied at Howard Payne University and completed her degree at the University of North Texas. After teaching elementary school for many years in San Antonio and Clint, she worked for the Texas Education Agency in Austin and completed her master's degree at Texas State University. Jeanette married Carl Worth Covington in 1962, and they were married 58 years when he passed in 2021.

Jeanette loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully in many ways. Throughout her life, she studied the Bible and shared scriptures with others. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Universal City, was an avid sports fan, and loved her family, friends, and church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local church or charity.
