Earl Read Williamson passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Read fought an almost two-year cancer battle with courage and bravery.

Read was born in New Braunfels TX on October 2, 1963, to Keith and Laura Williamson, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother Buddy (Keith, Jr,).

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Damalu "Sissy" Williamson. His son James Brian Williamson and wife Jennifer. His two Grandsons, his pride and joy, Lane and Ryder Williamson. Brother Mark Williamson and sisters Carol Caudill and Christine Cruess/Edward. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Read was raised at Smithson Valley, Texas on the JW Beretta Ranch where his Grandfather and Father worked for many years. This is where he learned to love the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, horses and helping work cattle and goats. His love of the outdoor life was passed on to his son and grandsons, and they enjoyed time together with outdoor activities and hobbies, especially fishing and barbequing. He considered both Smithson Valley and Spring Branch his home.

Read was extremely proud of his Texas Heritage and being a 6th generation Texan and knowing that his family roots ran far and wide back to the Republic.

He will live forever in our Hearts.

He always did the best he could with what was put in front of him...

A Celebration of Life will be held for all who wish to attend on November 7, 2026 from 2-4 pm at 1409 Mustang Lane in San Marcos.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels or Humane Society of New Braunfels.
