Elizabeth Claire Tolle (Libby) went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024. She was Born to Kenneth M. and Ethel Schumann Tolle on February 23, 1953 in Port Lavaca, Texas. In 1954, the family moved back to New Braunfels where Libby spent most of her life. Libby graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1971 and attended what is now Texas State University. She later attended nursing school and became a Registered Nurse. After obtaining her Bachelor's Degree, she eventually received a Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix.
Libby was married to Melvin Nolte Jr. and had her only son, Melvin Nolte III (Mel), in 1974. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. Her only grandson, Connor L. Nolte, was born to Mel and wife, Joy in 2007.
Libby was a very creative and artistic person. In the late 1980s she opened a variety store called "Hearts and Flowers" in New Braunfels. She was in her Glory making and selling her creations and curios of all kinds. She also painted some beautiful paintings. Libby eventually pursued her Nursing Career. At the latter part of her career, she worked for both the State of Texas and the Federal Government as a Compliance Inspector of Nursing Care facilities. After retirement, Libby enjoyed spending time at the Texas Coast fishing and relaxing with family and friends. She had a great love for the outdoors, nature, and specifically animals. This was obvious with her collection of adopted dogs, horses, cows and even a donkey.
Libby was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Tolle, her stepfather Carl Saur, her mother, Ethel Schumann Saur, maternal grandparents Herbert and Meta Schumann, and paternal grandparents Norma Rohde Tolle Wrage and Louis Wrage.
She is survived by her son Mel and wife Joy, her grandson Connor, her brother Ted Tolle and wife Connie, Uncle Jack Ohlrich, Aunts Margie Miller Schumann and Glenda Sneed Schumann and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Tolle and Schumann Families.
Memorial Services will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas
on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
