Ellwood "Jr"
Albert Sachtleben Jr.
d. Feb 7, 2025
Elwood "JR" Albert Sachtleben Jr. was born December 12,1944 in New Braunfels, Texas to Elwood and Wallie Ann Sachtleben. Jr grew up in Fischer and graduated from Canyon High School in 1963. After high school Jr. began working as a lineman for Guadalupe Valley Telephone Company where he served 37 years until he retired to spend more time "piddling around", as he would say.
Jr. and Karen were married September 30, 1966, at "The Lake of the Hills" Church in Canyon City. They spent a wonderful 58 years of marriage together.
Jr. enjoyed 9-pin bowling and always said it took a couple cans of "aiming fluid" for him to be able to see the pins straight! The past couple of years he was able to watch his great-granddaughters bowl which made him so proud.
Jr. also enjoyed camping. What began at Potter's Creek Park in a horse trailer, transitioned to a travel trailer he and Karen took many places with friends and family.
He never met a stranger and always had a witty joke to make many laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Sr., Wallie Ann, his sister Patsy and son Douglas Sachtleben.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen, his daughter Lisa and son-in-law Dennis, his granddaughters Kailee, husband Jared, and Kacee (Chelsea), his most precious great-granddaughters, Porter Wagner, Wallie Ann, and June Carter, and lastly, his running buddy, Tito.
Not a day will go by that we won't wish for one more beer, a plate of fried fish, and a dirty joke to be had under your cook shed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fischer Hall on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2pm.
