Obituary

On Sunday, August 27, 2023, Emma Jean Depew ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 92.

Emma was born on March 8, 1931, in Wausau, Florida to Frances Marie Miller and Clarence Miller.  She was the third born of 11 children.  Emma married Richard T. Cayse on April 16, 1951.  They had two children, a daughter, Deborah Williams, of New Braunfels, Texas and a son, Richard T. Cayse, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas.  In 1975 Emma and her husband, Richard, moved to New Braunfels, Texas.  Emma was employed as a beauty consultant with Merle Norman.  After losing her husband in 1991, she later remarried Russell Depew.   She was the sweetest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend that any person could have.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Miller and Frances Marie Miller, her husbands, Richard T. Cayse and Russell Depew, son-in-law, John F. Williams, brothers, Robert Clarence Miller, Charles William Miller, and Thomas Wayne Miller, sisters, Ella Louise Miller, Annie Merle Sears, Clarie Yvonne Miles, and Linda Sue Griffiths, sisters-in-law, Isabel Miller, Mabel Miller, and brothers-in-law, Buford Ravenal Dickerson, John Rodney Miles and Eugene Allen.  She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Williams, of New Braunfels,  and her son, Richard T. Cayse, Jr. of San Antonio, granddaughters, Christy Jones (Paul) of Bryan, Texas, and Carol Jean Venegas (Fernando) of Bigfork, Montana, and grandsons Richard T. Cayse, III and Christopher Cayse (Samantha) both of New Braunfels, and Benjamin Cayse (Trisha) of Berwick, Pennsylvania, great-grandsons, Taylor Jones, Marquis Venegas, Jeremiah Venegas, Tyler Venegas, Brayden Cayse, Killian Cayse, Harrison Cayse, and Oliver Cayse, great-granddaughter, Charlotte Cayse, step-grandsons, Johnny Williams (Susie), Jimmy Williams (Janet), Duane Williams (Bobette), and Dennis Williams (Sheri) , and step-great-grandchildren, Joshua Lindell (Tanya), Robin Williams, Megan Bading (Kyle), Kyle Williams (Allura), Brittany Grigsby (Kevin), Ashley Sulak (Daniel), Kody Williams (Cheyann), Heather Matheney (Evan), Jeremy Williams, Travis Williams, and her step-great great-grandchildren, Tyler Lindell, J.R. Lindell, Lucy Bading, Nora Bading, Fayelynn Lindell, Adi Grigsby, Everett Matheney, Harper Sulak, and Bridgett Matheney, sisters Eleanor Dickerson of Dade City, Florida, Helen Elaine Allen and Sharon McSwain (Drew) both of Watkinsville, Georgia, sister-in-law, Ruby Miller of Harbor City, California, brother-in-law, Richard Griffiths of Watkinsville, Georgia, as well as her many nieces and nephews.  She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 189 N. Seguin Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130, on September 4, 2023, from 5-7 p.m.  Services will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home the following day, September 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Pastor Robert Parish.  Graveside services following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.  Johnny Williams, Duane Williams, Kody Williams, Richard Cayse, Chris Cayse, and Benjamin Cayse will serve as Pallbearers.

Memorials can be made in Emma's name to Advanced Hospice, 1856 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78209, or to a favorite charity of your choice.
