Obituary

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Erma Jean Fey Lund, who left us peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Erma was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, wit, and creativity touched all who knew her.

Born on July 24, 1946, to Roselyn and Eugene Fey, Erma grew up surrounded by a lively and loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings Florine, Charlene, William, and Geraldine. She also mourned the loss of her cherished daughter, Debbie.

Erma is survived by her children Raymond Lund, married to Natalie, and Denise Lund, married to Mike Pearson. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Kayla, Chris (Abbi), Brooke, Layne, and Scarlett, and a proud loving great-grandmother to Kennedy and Peighton.

Erma dedicated many years of her life to San Antonio Water Systems, where she built a career defined by dedication and integrity. After retiring, she embraced the joys of leisure with the same spirit she brought to her work. She was an avid bowler, always up for a game and a good laugh, and a passionate crafter, known for creating beautiful things with her hands and heart. A proud Life Time member of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Erma served with enthusiasm on both the Swine and School Tours committees, embodying her love for volunteering. Erma also had a mischievous streak — not only did she enjoy a last minute casino trip, she never missed a chance to steal your dollars in a raucous game of Red Dog, laughing all the way to the win.

Her legacy is one of strength, creativity, and quiet resilience. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts and a community enriched by her presence.

A Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas. A Reception with desserts will be held following the Mass at Freiheit Country Store. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her name to: Tru Light Ministries on behalf of Erma's joy for participating in Hot Rod Santa. https://www.trulight127.org/donate/

Erma will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in every loop of a crocheted quilt, every strike at a bowling alley, and every smile shared around the dinner table over a good margarita.
