Frank Waldo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Canyon Lake, Texas, on June 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 8, 1933, in Cherokee, Iowa, to George and Laura (Groth) Waldo, Frank lived a life filled with love, dedication, and adventure.

In the 1950s, Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force under the Strategic Air Command, where he created countless memories and stories that he cherished throughout his life. His service was a testament to his commitment and patriotism.

Frank married Dorothy Schmitt, the love of his life, and together they shared a beautiful journey. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Mary (Waldo) Armstrong, who became the center of their world. Frank's career in electronics showcased his intellect and passion for innovation, and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a successful trailer park owner. Upon retirement, he and Dorothy moved to Canyon Lake, where they enjoyed the tranquility and beauty of their surroundings.

Known affectionately as "Poda" (Pop-Dad) by his favorite people, Frank's life was enriched by the joy and laughter they brought him. His legacy is carried on by his loving family, who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, siblings George Waldo Jr., Evie (Waldo) & Al Tillman, and Irene (Waldo) & Clarence Schadegg. He is survived by his devoted wife Dorothy, his daughter Mary (Waldo) and her husband Kurt Armstrong, grandchildren Roxi (Armstrong) and her husband Patrick, Nikki Armstrong, Mason Armstrong, great grandchildren Riley and Ollie Old, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Frank's life will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday Sept 1st at 9:00 AM. His family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating the remarkable life of a man who touched so many hearts.
