Frankie Elaine Caraway was one of three children, born to William Smith and Ovie Baker. On December 30th 2022 Frankie passed away next to the love of her life, and surrounded by immense amount of love and prayers from her family. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents William and Ovie, and her sister Jackie. Frankie is survived by her husband Wayne Caraway; children, Mikaela, Kaleob, and Joey; brother Willie; sister Vicky; and grandchildren; Cody, Parker, Corbin, and Diana.

Frankie was born on October 15th 1951 in Orange Grove Texas, where she spent her early years growing up as a child. Frankie was born being a 8th Generation Texan, and that began her love and passion for this great state. Frankie was honored to be a part of the Ferdinand Lindheimer Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic and it was something she held truly close to her heart, as her father William was a Son of the Republic of Texas. Frankie was extremely proud to be a descendant of two great Alamo defenders; George Washington Cottle and Gordon C. Jennings. If you knew Frankie, you knew that her love for Texas ran deep and strong, just as her love for the Lord ran even stronger. Frankie was a devoted woman to her faith and never lost communication or hope in the Lord. In hard times Frankie felt joy from the Heavenly Father and even felt comfort in knowing that she would be returning home to be with him and her family waiting there to greet her at the golden gates of Heaven. Frankie was an Alumni of Southwest Texas State University, and she was proud to have a degree in International Studies.

Frankie and her husband Wayne Caraway had a beautiful relationship, setting the perfect example for her children and grandchildren to emulate. Married for over 34 years, their love burned stronger and brighter with each passing day. Frankie poured her heart into the ones around her and exuded joy and happiness. Her proudest accomplishment was her beautiful family, who surrounded her with love until she went to be with her Heavenly Father.

A Funeral Service will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home at Canyon Lake in Sattler, Texas at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Fischer Cemetery in Fischer, Texas.
