Gene Doyle Johnson, born December 17, 1931, in Farmersville, TX. Sadly, Gene passed away August 13, 2026.

Gene was the youngest of three children born to Jess T. and Cora Lee Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Claudia (Gathercoal), his children, Michael (Carla), Tracy (Richard), Curtis (Julie) and Dereck (Nicole), 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, and his brother, Wayne.

Gene was an avid golfer, fisherman, and successful business owner in Durango, operating the Galloping Goose Gift Store for 25 years. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Visitation at 11:00 AM and funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, August 21, 2026.
