Glenda was born August 27, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Mary Jane and "Sandy" Sandberg and died suddenly December 23, 2023 at her home in Spring Branch, Texas.  She lived a life of love and adventure and will be sorely missed by all who knew her boundless energy for living, teaching and creative art.

Glenda was an Air Force dependent and grew up under the influence of many cultures.  Her family settled in New Braunfels during the early '70's whereupon she attended Southwest Texas State University and graduated with a BS in Education in 1978..  She taught art and math K through 12 at Schertz, Comal, Blanco and Edgewood school districts.  She also taught high school art in Mangilao , Guam for 5 years and earned a MA in Art, Ceramics and Sculpture, from the University of Guam during that time. Gary and Glenda moved to the small island of Rota between Guam and Saipan for 3 years where she taught indigenous seniors and children basic and advanced ceramic art as well as designing and building commercial art projects for individuals and the Government of Guam.   After returning stateside she continued teaching and helped build, manage and sell several RV Parks in Spring Branch.

In addition to her life's work Glenda had many adventures along the way including but definitely not limited to exploring Europe with her family in the mid '60's, living in a Teepee for a year in the woods of Southern Illinois, solo trips to Mexico, working the bar weekends at Gruene Hall in the mid '70's, very long road trips around the West and to Alaska,  spending the summer of '82  on the Kuskokwim River in a 10 x 12 cabin with just an outhouse and one intermittent lightbulb, numerous week long float trips on remote rivers in South West Alaska, multiple visits to Bali, Indonesia in the early'90's, and earning her advanced open water and night diving certifications on Guam and Rota.

Glenda is survived by her husband Gary Dean, brother Randy Sandberg, sisters-in-law Phyllis Dean and Pamela Sandberg, nieces Heidi Huffman, Michelle Schwandt, Heather Allen, nephews Ben Huffman, Chip Hamilton and several thousand former students.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       A memorial / goodbye party will be held April 6, 2024 from Noon till Dusk at her art studio on Gary and Glenda's property located 1290 Agaritville, Spring Branch, Texas 78070.  Any and all are hereby invited to her last kegger.  Once everyone has said their goodbyes, and per her wishes, Glenda's ashes will travel West for partial distribution in the Pacific Ocean along the Olympic Peninsula, Washington with other tossing of ash in downtown Libby, Montana, Campsite #5 on the Shoshone River just West of Cody, Wyoming and somewhere in the Colorado Rocky Mountains probably along Imogene Pass between Ouray and Telluride. Her remaining ashes will ride with the Willybago until placed in the casket of Gary Dean who will be buried on their property in Spring Branch.
