Gordon Everett Mitchell was born to Thomas E. & Margaret (Whitcomb) Mitchell on March 7, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. He passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, in New Braunfels, Texas surrounded by family.

Gordon was a skilled carpenter who took pride in his home and yard. He filled his time working on his projects and his vehicles. Gordon also enjoyed cooking, especially barbecuing, and entertaining family, and friends. Gordon filled the room with his big heart and big laugh. He always had a joke ready and a contagious smile, spreading joy to everyone around him. He leaves behind countless memories that will keep us smiling for years to come.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Dion Pena and brothers, Thomas W. Mitchell, and Ervin Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Melinda Wilson Mitchell; the mother of his children, Melanie Mitchell; their children, Crystal Pena, Ashley & husband Ian Torres, and Travis E. Mitchell & fiancée Brittany Cavasos; his step-children, Craig Vestal and Melischa & husband Darrell Sciberras; his grandchildren, Vivian Pena, Jack & Madeline Torres, and Brianna & Brooke Sciberras; his siblings, Rose Ann & husband William Drawe, Russell Mitchell & wife Suzi, Lance Mitchell & Carol, Jill & husband Lee Herbst, and Jessica & husband Michael Carr, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas

on Saturday May 4, 2024, beginning at 12 noon and Funeral Services will commence at 1:00 PM.

A procession will follow the funeral service to Hill Country Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to:  St. Jude Children's Hospital.
