Harold Alphonse Soechting, a cherished member of the New Braunfels community and a resident of Seguin since his retirement in 2017, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2024, in San Antonio at the age of 80. Born on July 17, 1944, in the nearby town of New Braunfels, Harold's life was an adventure filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories.

A dedicated electrician, Harold contributed significantly to the infrastructure of New Braunfels. His unwavering commitment to his craft, coupled with his warm and friendly personality, earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and neighbors.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Harold was celebrated for his culinary prowess. He spent much of his time cooking for those he loved and competing in BBQ competitions and cook-offs. His signature BBQ peach cobbler was a testament to his love of good food and a crowd favorite at family gatherings.

When he wasn't cooking, he loved shooting pool, playing cards, and of course, sharing a cold one with his buddies. A passionate outdoorsman, Harold loved hunting, bass fishing, and the simple pleasures of nature. Harold found pride and joy in tending to his garden and canning his own vegetables – He loved to make others smile by giving away his vegetables to those dear to him.

Harold is survived by his beloved sister: Pearl Davidson and husband, Dennis Davidson; daughter: Tiffany Foy and husband, Jeromy Foy; son: Travis Soechting and wife, Cindy Soechting; grandchildren: Gage Hadlock and wife, Rylie Hadlock, Gavin Hadlock and partner, Olivija Therien, Garrison Arredondo, Tripp Soechting, Saylor Soechting, Christian Henry, Carson Henry; great-granddaughter: Drake Ann Hadlock (Harold's lil goose); and nieces & nephews: Georgiana Watts, Denise French, Tracie Pape, Blake Soechting.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse & Viola Soechting, and his brother, George Soechting.

A celebration of life will be planned in his memory at a later date.

Harold will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he loved. His legacy will live on through the countless stories and laughter he shared.
