Hector Casas Gonzales, 73, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 17, 1951, in New Braunfels to Modesto and Jesusa (Casas) Gonzales.

Hector was a proud lifelong resident of New Braunfels. His childhood was filled with joy, riding bikes through the neighborhood with his brother and helping his parents with daily tasks that instilled in him responsibility and perseverance. He graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1970 and went on to earn a degree in car mechanics from Texas State Technical Institute. Hector's love of cars flourished throughout his career; as a mechanic, a car salesman, and as a finance manager. Beyond his work, Hector had a remarkable talent for woodworking. He spent countless hours in his workshop, where his craftsmanship transformed simple pieces of wood into meaningful creations that became treasured family keepsakes. Every project reflected his patience, creativity, and love for those who would receive them.

More than anything, Hector's heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who never missed an opportunity to celebrate milestones, encourage dreams, or simply sit and share a laugh. He loved spending time with family, often teasing, joking, and keeping everyone smiling. His home was always filled with warmth, faith, and laughter. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he delighted in watching them grow, always cheering them on from the sidelines of life.

Hector's strong Catholic faith was central to who he was. A longtime member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, he found comfort in prayer and strength in community. He lived out his faith not only through devotion to the church but also in the way he treated others - with compassion, humility, and generosity.

Those who knew Hector will remember him as a man of integrity, humor, and kindness. He never hesitated to help a friend in need, share a story that would brighten the day, or offer wisdom drawn from a lifetime of experience. He was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome, whether through a hearty laugh, a gentle word of encouragement, or the simple act of being present. Hector's legacy is one of faith, love, and resilience. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the laughter he brought will continue to live on in all who were fortunate to share in his life.

Hector is preceded in death by his parents, Modesto and Jesusa Gonzales, and his brother, David Gonzales. He is survived by his children, Patricia Herrera (Rico), Gerardo Molina (Esther), and Regina Sauceda (Rene); twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. His life and memory will also be cherished by countless extended family members, friends, neighbors, and former colleagues who were blessed to know him.

A Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels.  A graveside will follow at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels. Followed by a Celebration of Life to be held at Vicky's Hinterhoff.

The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice for their compassionate care during Hector's final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church or Hope Hospice.
