Obituary

James Roy Hollon, 78, of Bulverde, Texas, peacefully passed the morning of June 8, 2021 in Bulverde. He was born on October 12, 1942 in Coleman, Texas to Arthur L. and Mollie (Tabor) Hollon.

His friends and family knew him as "Roy". From humble beginnings in Coleman Texas, Roy moved to San Antonio in 1960 and began working in construction. In 1971, he started Roy Hollon Construction Company and he grew it into a successful business. In 2016, Roy finally slowed down and retired to enjoy raising his cows and tending his fields. His two sons (Dale & Eddie) proudly carry on the business today. From a young age Roy loved motorsports, and was involved in drag racing, boat racing, off road racing, mud racing. He also enjoyed and was successful in truck pulling where he and his "Texas Bluebonnet" modified 4x4 truck won several championships and had many national and state event wins. He cherished the life-long friends he made along the way.

Roy was always eager to help and was generous with his time and knowledge. He loved and looked out for his neighbors, and they looked after him. He had many friends, and he loved them all. Mr. "Roy" will truly be missed by many.

Roy is survived by his two sons, Dale Hollon and Eddie Hollon, daughters-in-law Kate and Karen, grandson Corey, and brother Lonnie (Sunny) Hollon and his wife Beulah. Roy is also survived by two amazing former wives, Priscilla Garrett and Sally Ann Logan.
