Obituary

James T, Miday age 78, originally from Louisville, Ohio passed away peacefully at University Hospital in Sa n Antonio, Texas on September 7, 2025 after a long battle with congestive heart failure.  He was born in Canton on May 14, 1947 to the late John C. and Dorothy V. (Tournoux) Miday.  James served during the Vietnam War era and was honorably discharged on June 20, 1968.  James worked for many years with his father in their privately owned auto body shop and later worked for the city of Canton as an environmental monitor.  When James retired, he decided to travel, so he bought a motor home and headed west.  In 2013, he met his wife Patricia "Pepper" (Mitchell) Miday at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.  They were married on October 8, 2015, and eventually settled in Texas.

He leaves his loving family and many friends to treasure his memory. His family includes his wife of nearly 10 years Pepper, Sister-in-law Ann Miday, nieces Michelle Miday and Melanie Meredith-Stern and great nephew Johanathan, Nephew Kevin Miday and wife Kelli Harter along with her two children and his many cousins and other Miday family members.

Along with his parents and brother, he was preceded in deatn by an infant sister.

James will be interred with full military honors at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2025, in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James's memory to St. Joseph's Indian School, P. O. Box 326, Chamberland, SD, 57326.
