James "Jimmy" Rahe Jr. peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67. Born in New Braunfels, Texas, to James Sr. and Marjorie (Brietzke) Rahe, Jimmy lived a life full of faith, family, and passion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Terri (Whitlock) Rahe, with whom he shared a wonderful life and raised four cherished children. Jimmy's greatest joys came from hunting, fishing and spending treasured moments with his family, always valuing the time spent with those he loved most. Jimmy was proud to be one of the first employees at GVTC and, at the time of his retirement in 2020, was one of the company's most tenured employees; hanging up his hardhat after more than four decades of dedicated service.

Jimmy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Terri; their children Christina (Rahe) Hancock and her husband Scott, Kyle Rahe, Kary Rahe, and Sondra (Rahe) Voges who were all his pride and joy. Sondra who preceded him in death, now welcomes him into eternal peace alongside his parents, sister and many beloved aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his five siblings, Kathleen (Rahe) Ross (Milton), Jack Rahe (Dana), Carol (Rahe) Cabaniss (Buddy), Kay (Rahe) Stahl-Schwarzlose (Jeff), and Marjorie (Rahe) Meckel (Dennis). He joins his sister Dawn Rahe in eternal rest. Jimmy also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Kade and Kaleigh Voges, Claire, Corynn, and Cambrie Hancock, as well as his son-in-law Ryan Voges. He will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, with burial to take place at Comal Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the burial at Peace Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance.
