Obituary

Janice Elizabeth Edwards Shupp, age 78, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at Brooke Army Medical Center on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  Janice was born on November 20, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, daughter of Mary Frances Yates & Clarence William Edwards.

Janice had many passions including painting, gardening, arts & crafts.  Janice was a member of Genesis Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Beta Sigma Phi. Janice was a graduate of Clarksville High School class of 1965 and attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Thomas Edwards; brother, Gary Edwards; nephew, Dean Edwards; and her beloved dogs Daisy & Sadie.

Janice is survived by her sister, Kay Denise Edwards Freeman; daughter, Brittany Denise Shupp Tadlock (husband, Jimmie); stepdaughter, Dr. Erin Alayne Shupp McLendon (husband, John); grandchildren, Elmer C. Hose, III "Charlie" & Selene Hose; step grandchildren, William Tadlock (wife, Courtney) & Katie Whaley (husband, Devin) and Sean McLendon & Emma McLendon; step great-grandchildren, Brennen, Karson, & John Whaley and Savannah Tadlock; Nieces, Natalie Hyatt & Cayce Strength; and Nephew, Timothy Simpson.

In honor of Janice's wishes we encourage you to wear your brightest outfit and hat to a celebration of life service held at Genesis church at 10465 FM2673, Canyon Lake, TX 78133 on Saturday October 11, 2025 at 11am with tea immediately following or a celebration of life service at Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1410 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040 on October 20, 2025 at 11am with tea immediately following.  Janice will be interred at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana with her family on October 21, 2025.
