Jason Morgan Nelson, proud father, grandfather, and great grand-father, 69 years old, of New Braunfels, TX, died in Cibolo on June 17, 2025.

He was born in Muleshoe, TX in 1955 to Bernard and Ruby Eva Nelson, and was the youngest of three children.  Jason graduated from Uvalde High School in 1973 and attended Southwest Texas Junior College. Soon after, he began working for his father at their family business, Nelson Auto Parts, and continued a long career in the automotive parts industry.

Jason was a devoted and loving father to Cory, Aaron and Shalan who miss him dearly and his bad dad jokes that he always used to get a quick laugh. He was a proud family man who loved quality time with his children, grandchildren and his new great granddaughter. Whether it be a simple family dinner or a quick fishing trip, Jason enjoyed being with his family. He took great pride in being a parent, especially when it came to the weekend activities that they enjoyed together. There were barbecues, river times, fishing, and hunting trips.  He was so proud of the accomplishments of each of his children, but especially, he loved watching them parent his grandchildren.

Jason was also a good friend to many.  He always had a place for his friends to stay, a smile to give, and a story to share.  He had a good sense of humor along with a friendly spirit and a love for two-steppin'.  He loved Jesus and his church, Oakwood Baptist where he attended regularly. His fun times were divided between his family, his friends, his church and his fishing boat.  He spent many hours on the Texas lakes waiting to catch the next "big one".

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, his mother Ruby Eva (or Bill – as she was known), and his niece Cherri House.  Jason is survived by his siblings, Michael Nelson and   Linda Nelson Matthews.  He is survived by his children, Cory Nelson and his wife Caroline, Aaron Nelson, and Shalan Nelson Judd and her husband Bryan, along with his grandchildren, Taylor Nelson, Makenna Nelson, Jared Nelson, Morgan Nelson, Grant Judd, Bryce Judd, Lyla Judd and Great granddaughter, Charlotte Nelson.  He is also survived by his nieces, Monica Caressimo and Stephanie Reed.

Funeral Services will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, with graveside services to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at 12p.m.
