John Walter Carpenter, 91, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away peacefully, in his sleep on October 23, 2023. He was born on October 5, 1932, in Spicewood, Texas. John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Orvis Carpenter and Gertrude Henrietta Carpenter, his wife, Charlotte Carpenter, and son, Michael Carpenter.

John is survived by his children, John V. Carpenter (Michelle) of Katy, TX, Billy Carpenter of Manor, TX, Susan Carpenter of Canyon Lake, TX, Tommy Carpenter of Orange Grove, TX, David Carpenter (Larry Lee) of Houston, TX, and Robert Carpenter (Bernice) of Corpus Christi, TX. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

John loved being outdoors and had a passion for exploring. He often frequented Farmers Markets, flea markets, and garage sales, where he discovered his beloved dog, Lulu. John also had a talent for woodworking and enjoyed creating various items, ranging from toys to small furniture.

A memorial service will be held on October 29, 2023, from 11am to 1pm at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 1071 FM 2673 in Sattler, TX. Visitation will be from 11am to 12pm and the service will be from 12pm to 1pm, followed by a burial service at Fischer Cemetery, in Fischer, Texas.
