Obituary

John Joseph "Jack" Sevcik was born to John and Leona Sevcik on March 20, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He passed from this life that he loved March 7, 2024 in New Braunfels, Texas.

Jack was a U.S. Army 101st Airborne paratrooper veteran and retired Houston police officer with 30 years of service. He owned Cactus Jack's antique shop and loved a good deal. Coaching basketball at his local church was one of his greatest passions.

Above all, Jack was a devoted husband, father, and a man of faith. Jack had an unparalleled ability to light up a room with his humor. He loved to crack jokes, always ready to bring a smile to anyone's face. Jack hated to lose a game, especially Rummikub.

He is survived by his wife, Gena Sevcik; brother, Johnny Sevcik; sister, Joyce Cawley; his two daughters, Shelly White and husband, David, and Jennifer Lopez and husband, Bobby; his five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15 from 5-7pm

at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel, 189 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels, Texas 78130

A Memorial Service will be held onSaturday, March 16 at 10:30 am

at Cross Lutheran Church, 2171 E Common St., New Braunfels, Texas 78130
