Our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, John Clayton Welch passed from this life on September 16, 2026

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Joyce Wilkerson, his second wife, Patricia Freisen, his brother, William and sister, Katherine and his daughter, Carla Joyce Nichols.

He is survived by his wife, Norah Faye Graham; his children, Annette Colleen Sanchez of Montebello, California, Frances Carol Slater of San Antonio, Texas and John Clayton Welch, Jr. of Dunnellon, Florida. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, brother, Alfred and sister, JoAnn and their respective spouses. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He also loved and cherished the many children, grandchildren and other relatives from his second wife Patti and his current family with Faye.

John was a volunteer with many different organizations and mentored many people in his lifetime. He was also a deacon in his church and loved serving God. He proudly served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by us all.

John was laid to rest next to his first wife Wanda on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Cranes Mill Cemetery in Startzville, Texas.
