Joni Dee Harvey was born to James & Delores (Olsen) Jaeckel on January 18, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 7, 2023, in McQueeney, Texas at the age of 65.

She is survived by her mother, Delores Jaeckel; son, Destin Harcus (Lauren); daughter, Jacquelyn Harcus; grandchildren, Piper and Palmer Harcus; siblings, Mark Jaeckel (Gina), Jerry Jaeckel (Barb), and Cindy Liban (Mark); partner, Patrick Kirk and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Joni was preceded in death by her father, James Jaeckel.

Joni was a mom to few and a friend to many. She served the city of Milwaukee as a police officer for 25 years. She was a loving and devoted partner, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She wanted everyone to be heard and no one to be forgotten. She enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling the world, attending sporting events, and watching sunsets on the lake. If music was available, she was requesting a song.

Whether you knew Joni or are now meeting her for the first time, she would want you to have a drink in her memory and always remember to 'be loving and kind to one another.'
