NO REGRETS
Josie Marie Loria passed away on February 25, 2025, at her home with her family at her side. She was born on June 15, 1940, and raised in Kerrville, TX. Proceeding her life partner Shirley A. Duren of 50 years. She began working at her dad's business at a very young age. In the 1960's she began her Religious Orders at the Diocese of Galvaston-Houston. She taught 3rd level at St Teresa School. She received Advance Doctrine Full Teacher of Religion Certificate on May 1969. On September 2, 1969, she received a Texas Teacher Certificate. In the 1970s, she went on to teach at Ridgemont Elementary, in Richmond, TX. On August 29, 1976, she received her Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She retired from teaching in May of 1989. In 1995, Josie began her new career as a licensed real estate realtor with Linda Johns and Associates Real Estate in Canyon Lake, Tx. According to broker Linda, the 20 years that Josie worked there was a wonderful time in their lives listing and selling real estate. Josie was so loved by many customers and clients.
Upon retirement, Josie and Shirley began to travel the country with their RV. Colorado was Josie's favorite state to visit. Both Josie and Shirley enjoyed working at many resorts throughout their travels.
Josie enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, golfing, outside yard work, and most of all traveling with her friends and family in the RV. Josie and Shirley favorite spot in Texas was Rockport. Each time spent in Rockport Josie would pick her fourth-grade student Sandra aka adopted daughter to go camping with her and Shirley. Josie had a very giving heart, and she loved her family and friends. Josie wanted us to know that she lived her life with no regrets.
Surviving Josie's memory is her brother Frank Loria, her niece Nicole Loria and family, nephew Garrett Loria and family. Her daughter Sandra and J.J. Villagran, grandson Isaiah Villagran, granddaughter Lexi Villagran, granddaughter Jaydra Galenzoga and family, Christian Villagran and family. She had four great grandkids Emma and Ella Villagran, Zealand and Sweden Galenzoga. Her dearest friends Linda and Philip, Ann and Sherry, Martha and Julyne, Jobeth and Peggy, Linda and Donna, Jenny, Kathy and Debbie, Nora and Cissy, Angela Dudley, and Benny and Fran. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home at Canyon Lake in Sattler. Burial will follow at Mt. Valley Cemetery in Sattler.
