Kathie Lynn (Kuebel) Aelvoet of Spring Branch was born to Norman and Susie Kuebel on September 3, 1962, in New Braunfels, Texas. She passed from this life on October 28, 2024, at the age of 62. She is preceded in death by her father.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband of 28 years David Aelvoet; daughters Lynae (Aelvoet) Duffessy and husband Brandon; Lynette Aelvoet and boyfriend Skylar Wagner; son Lane Aelvoet; grandson Oliver Duffessy; mother Susie Kuebel; sister Beverly Kelling and husband Mark. Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Annette and Tom McMinn; Frank and Pam Aelvoet; Andy and Theresa Aelvoet; Mariette and Billy Wroe; Jeanette and Tobin Tilley; Paul and Denise Aelvoet; Tom and Jennifer Aelvoet; Pat and Patsy Aelvoet; along with numerous nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Kathie was a member of the First Protestant Church of New Braunfels where she was baptized and confirmed. Kathie graduated from Smithson Valley High School in 1981; attended Southwestern University where she received her Bachelor's degree in 1984; and then later attended St. Mary's University where she earned her Master's in Business Administration in 1991.

Kathie and David first met while attending graduate school at St. Mary's in 1989. When David returned to Texas from law school in 1993, a congratulatory card from Kathie rekindled their relationship. They married on June 1, 1996. They have lived on the Kuebel family ranch that has been in the family since the 1850's. She treasured living on the ranch, taking great pride in being a steward of the land and preserving its natural beauty.

Kathie worked for several years with Diamond Shamrock as a financial analyst; but motherhood was her natural calling. Once Lynae was born, she exited the corporate world to fully dedicate herself to her family. She was a loving wife, a nurturing caretaker of the children, a skilled seamstress, astute with the finances, and the family's guiding compass. The family lovingly deemed Kathie as the head of the household.

Kathie leaves behind a legacy of commitment to family, stewardship to the land, and defiance in the face of unrelenting obstacles. She handled life with grace, strength, and courage. She lived with a giving heart. She kept the faith. Kathie was our "Overcomer!"

As per Kathie's wishes, a family memorial service will be held on the family ranch when her beloved field of bluebonnets are in full bloom. Memorials may be made to: First Protestant Church of New Braunfels or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo, TX. You can honor Kathie by listening to one of her favorite songs, "Overcomer" by Mandisa.
