Obituary

On February 11, 2021 Kathleen Frasco of Garden Ridge, TX.  passed away suddenly at the age of 75.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Known to all who knew and loved her as Kathy, she met the love of her life, Anthony ("Tony") when she was 15 years old.  Since then, they were inseparable until her passing.

Kathy was born on October 25, 1945 in Teaneck, NJ to Leonard and Margaret (Heaney) Freligh.  She attended St. Andrew's elementary school in Westwood, NJ, and a 1963 graduate of Pascack Valley High School in Hillsdale, NJ.  She and Tony married in 1964, and they resided in Westwood, NJ where they raised their daughter, Julie.  While she resided in Westwood, she worked with Tony in his plumbing and construction business, was active in local politics, researched generations of her family tree, collected antiques, and was an accomplished gardener.

Kathy and Tony retired to Garden Ridge, TX in 2011 where they were active together in their community.  Kathy loved all animals and was an active member of Advocates for Garden Ridge Wildlife as an opponent to the deer euthanization project in Garden Ridge, actively protecting the deer population in her community.  Her love for animals made her act whenever she saw a stray or lost animal.  Whether it was stopping on the side of the road to bring them to safety, or giving food and safety to the stray cats who showed up on their doorstep.   She loved music, travel, and was well-read on all politics, news and history.  Her gardening continued in Garden Ridge where they planted and tended to beautiful flowers and plants.

Kathy loved her family, her beloved dog Trixie, and spending every day with Tony who was the love of her life.  She is survived by her loving family:  Tony, her best friend, and loving, devoted husband of 56 years; loving daughter Julie Kieffer and son-in-law Don of Bernardsville, NJ; and loving granddaughter, Madeline Kieffer, of Saluda, VA.  She touched more people than she ever realized.  Kathy was predeceased by her parents and sister, Barbara Berruti.

The family will receive visitors at the Doeppenschmidt  Funeral Home, New Braunfels from 2-6pm on February 22, 2021.  Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery on February 23, 2021 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Kathy's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
