Laura Jane Lester Epperson was born to James "Red" & Mary Elizabeth (Middleton) Lester on March 21, 1957 in Abilene, Texas. She passed from this life on February 6, 2021 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 63.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Elton Lester, and David Lee Lester; nephew, Joe David Lester who was like a son to her and Derek Smith who was the significant companion to daughter, Lisa.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Epperson of New Braunfels; daughters, Lisa Lester of Spring Branch and Bridget "B.J" Tapia & husband, Edward of New Braunfels; sister, Elizabeth Jean Maciukiewicz of Alvin; brothers, James Roy Lester & wife, Carol of Ft. Worth, Ronald Ray Lester & wife, Margie of Oakhurst, CA, and Charles Glyn Lester of Abilene; grandsons, Ayden Tapia and Kiptyn Tapia and numerous nieces, nephews, additional relatives, and dear friends.
Laura was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. She moved to New Braunfels, Texas in 2018. Laura was a Walmart associate for 22 years in Abilene. She also served as troop leader for her daughters in both Brownies and Girl Scouts. Laura was the best team Mom and dugout Mom for her daughter BJ'S many softball teams, if she was not in the dugout she was definitely in the stands. Throughout the elementary school years for both daughters, Lisa and BJ and later for her beloved nephew Joe, she volunteered as room Mom and prepared homemade sweets and crafts for different occasions. Laura enjoyed attending football, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball games of her grandsons, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed surfing the internet and keeping up with family, friends, and neighbors on social media. Laura also enjoyed discussing all of the happenings of her favorite TV shows with both daughters and her sister Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to any Charity of Choice or The American Stroke Association.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
