Obituary

Lawrence Lee Zuercher, 85, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on August 19, 2022 at his residence in New Braunfels.  He was born on August 26, 1936 in New Braunfels to Leonard and Valeska (Jentsch) Zuercher.

Lawrence was proud of his accomplishments in his career as a LVN.  He served as a medic in US Army. Went to school with the nuns at St Mary in San Antonio. He worked and learned many different fields of nursing.  He worked for McKenna hospital, Eden Home, the Comal County jail, and University Health Systems.  He retired after 25 years of working for University Hospital.  He was an orthopedic nurse who trained orthopedic doctors from all over the world.

He was a member of many clubs, gardening, German American heritage Society, and the Lions club.

He travelled a lot in his younger years. His favorite trip was a train ride through Alaska Yukon. He was in wonder with the beauty of the land.  In his last months of living he said he was proud of his life accomplishments. That he lived a good life.

He is survived by his sisters, Vernice Tschoppe and her children, and Valerie Harmer and her children.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels.
