Linda Lou Bearden Junker  1948 - 2025

Linda Lou Bearden Junker (aka Sandra Kay), age 77, passed away peacefully at her home in New Braunfels, Texas, on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, 5 years after her diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Midland, Texas. Lisa Jebsen will be officiating. Burial will be at 10am Friday, July 18th 2025 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Odessa, Texas. A Celebration of Life & Remembrance will be held for her in New Braunfels, Texas on June 28th 2025 at her family home.

Linda was born in Odessa, Texas, to Stroud Kelly Bearden and Jewell May Teurman Bearden, on February 4th, 1948. Linda graduated from Odessa High School in 1967; Go Broncos!

Linda was a loving wife to her husband, Jean Junker, for 55 years, a homemaker, a mother and a volunteer for Senior Life in Midland, assisting elderly and visually impaired senior citizens. She enjoyed traveling, walking, crafts, sewing, cooking, entertaining, conversation, card games, farkle, and spending time with friends, family and her cats. Linda would happily give people one of her handmade potholders, a candy cane reindeer or a loaf of banana bread. When she did, she also gave you a piece of her heart as she loved to share and make people happy.

Linda was afflicted with lifelong hearing loss and vision impairment via Ushers Syndrome and Retinitis Pigmentosa but despite her challenges lived a happy and fulfilling life. Linda donated her eyes to medical research in the hope that she might help others who were similarly challenged.

Linda is survived by her husband, Camille Jean Junker, daughter, Juli Junker of St. Petersburg, Florida, son Jason Junker and wife Tiffany of Kingston, Washington, grandchildren, Faith Junker and Jonah Junker, and great grandson Ryker Junker, sister Alice Busby of Midland, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Helen Louise Bearden Spratlen, Mildred Bearden Clemmons and brother Charles David Bearden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, Texas; the Miracles in Sight Eye Bank; the Foundation Fighting Blindness; or the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute for Retinal Research.
