Our Sweet Sweet Linda Lou has been called home by her Heavenly Father to Sing & Dance & Praise her Lord and Savior in a new body. As she joins her Mom and Dad and sisters Adeline Henk and Virgina to complete their family of 5. Lindy, as she was known by her family, was born to Ottmar and Linda Dietert and would have been 80 years young this December. From the moment of her birth Linda Lou was a strong-willed girl who was determined to make her mark in this world. Linda Lou though born with "CP" Cerebral Palsy and Deafness was looked at and treated in a different light. But those who took the time to truly know her, knew what an Amazing Loving and Caring woman she was. As the old saying goes "You can't judge a book by the cover" From an early age of becoming proficient in "ASL" American Sign Language her whole life was met with frustration with the fact that those around her did not know or knew very little of her language. So Reading, Writing and Arithmetic became a passion for her. Although her CP made it very difficult to hold a pencil or a sewing needle, she filled many a spiral notebook with letters to loved ones and numbers that tallied up incidents on the news, like how many trucks and cars that were in accidents, how many fires, and cats and dogs, and any other tidbits she found interesting. Linda loved to watch TV. You would often catch her watching QVC (or the Home Network Shopping Channel) making a shopping list and making sure the total was circled for how much money she needed to place her order. Linda loved her jewelry. Our Fashion Diva who loved to accessorize her outfit of the day. And SHOES… She Loved Shoes! If you wanted to see her really get excited and get a smile on her face, you just had to bring her a new pair of shoes (and socks). Although Linda Lou enjoyed shopping, she was gifted with many talents. She enjoyed drawing and sketching; buildings, birds, horses and flowers, were her specialty. Give her a plastic square craft grid, a sewing needle and some yarn and she could design just about anything without a pattern. Crosses and Flags and Geometrical Designs were her favorite. Now let's talk Dominoes… Linda Lou was the Family Champ. She may have moved slower later in life, and have a hard time getting her tile where she wanted it, but when it got there, she would just sit back and laugh... and found great Joy in knowing she won yet again…  Linda Loved to holler BINGO… ok maybe not the word Bingo but HEY!!! you and everyone else knew she had won.

Linda Lou had a great faith in God. From the time she was young, helping her mom clean the Friedens Church in Geronimo where she was baptized and confirmed as well as a member of the Women's (Guild) of Friedens. This gave Linda a huge sense of belonging and a sense of pride in knowing she was actively helping her church. She loved trying to tell others about God. She also loved it when someone would take her hands and pray with her. Linda's Loving and Caring Spirit would seek out those in need and try to help them. Our Linda Lou So Loving, So Giving, So Gracious, So Kind. Linda endured a lot throughout her life, and through it all she remained Thankful with a welcoming smile on her face.

For those of you who had the honor of knowing Linda Lou, you were Truly Blessed. For those of you who didn't, you really missed out on One Amazing Woman.

Left to Cherish her memories is her niece, Brenda Henk, her nephew and niece, Michael Henk and his wife, Cyndi. Her Great Niece's; Leanne (Stephen) Ethridge, Erin (Clint) Laffere, Her Bonus Great Niece's; Jennifer (Geoff) Hoots-Kallies, Sara (Rich) Hoots-Villchitski

The newfound family of her roommate Janice Wubbena, her sister in Christ, whom we all just grew to Love each other and watch over them as their very special roommate bond began. They watched out for each other and did everything they could to help one another. Their spirited "High Fives" will be a cherished memory. Even though they were not roommates in the end. Their bond was so special that Janice met up with Linda on their final journey home the next morning, less than 12 hours after Linda passed. God Bless you both!! I am sure that Linda is saying Thank You again for the Dove chocolate Rachel, and for the doughnut holes Brad, and for your help in her campaign to "Make America Great Again" Stan. Linda Loved Y'all so much and so do we.

And for the Elara Care Team "San Antonio Division" there are not enough words to say Thank You!!!!! Linda Loved y'all so much and we Appreciate y'all so much too!! From the help and guidance for Hospice care from Nikita and Aida, her spiritual health and prayers from Leo, the Incredible, Compassionate nursing care from Jen and Candice, and the tender personal care from Norma. We, as well as Linda could never say Thank You enough!!!  God Bless each one of you.

To the care givers at The Heights of Bulverde who truly did care for Linda, especially her teacher, speech therapist, Allie, we thank you. To the loving, caring staff at Kirkwood, and Elara Care New Braunfels, we thank you for helping Linda journey through her final stage of this life

We are sure Linda would want to say Thank You (as she was ever so Thankful to everyone) to Joel the Funeral Director at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home.  Joel your Kindness and Compassion for helping us through all of this speaks mountains to your dedication and care that you give to every one of the families you take care of when their loved one has passed.  We too say Thank You!!

Phillipians 4:6-9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things.

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
