Loraine Ikels Kraft, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at home on March 4, 2024 at the age of 94.  Loraine was born June 22, 1929, in San Antonio to William and Anna Ikels. On February 26, 1947, she married the love of her life, Calvin Kraft. They enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage.

A lifetime resident of New Braunfels, Loraine was a homemaker and a partner with her husband in the building business and ranching, but somehow found a way to open a flower shop and pursue her passion of being a florist. She loved plants and flowers using her green thumb to grow anything. She also loved to volunteer and gave her time to worthwhileorganizations like the Red Cross at McKenna Hospital and Hope Hospice. Giving her time and common sense to the city she called home; she served on the City Council for New Braunfels. When working and volunteering were done, there was nothing she loved more than a game of cards or dominos.

Loraine is survived by a son, Bobby and his wife Donna of New Braunfels and the light of her life, hergrandchildren, Allison Kaufmann and husband Kristofer of Kingsbury, Texas and Dustin Kraft and wife Katherine of Houston, Texas, along with great grandchildren Karsyn Kaufmann, Kamryn Kaufmann, and Cade Kraft. She also leaves behind a special godchild, Kim Baumann and husband Blake, their children Mikhael and Mikayla Rodi of Leander, Texas.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Ikels, her husband, Calvin, and infant son Michael.

Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2024 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels with family receiving friends from 5-7 PM. Services will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 12 at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery.

The family requests donations be made to Hope Hospice or Grace Church New Braunfels in her memory.
